چکیده

INTRODUCTION Patients are at increased risk of cutaneous and systemic fungal infections when immunocompromised secondary to chemotherapy administration, hematopoietic and solid organ transplantation, diabetes, and AIDS. Those infections caused by Candida species are increasing in severity and frequency. Yarrowia lipolytica, formerly termed Candida lipolytica, has only recently been implicated as an offending organism and is now believed to exist as normal flora in the mouth, gut, and pulmonary tree. Most infections present as sepsis and, because the organism is considered of low virulence, are not necessarily treated with antifungal medications. A cutaneous infection has only been reported once previously.

افزایش تولید نایسین در بیوراکتور با کشت همزمان Lactococcus lactis و Yarrowia lipolytica

The production of Yarrowia lipolytica lipase powder by improved spray-drying method

Lipase is used in the production of foods, flavor enhancers, detergents, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. A common impediment to the production of commercial enzymes is their low-stability aqueous solutions. In this study, the downstream process was investigated to obtain a stable spray-dried lipase powder of Yarrowia lipolytica. The enzyme solution samples were supplemented with different concen...

Heterologous Expression of Xylanase Enzymes in Lipogenic Yeast Yarrowia lipolytica

To develop a direct microbial sugar conversion platform for the production of lipids, drop-in fuels and chemicals from cellulosic biomass substrate, we chose Yarrowia lipolytica as a viable demonstration strain. Y. lipolytica is known to accumulate lipids intracellularly and is capable of metabolizing sugars to produce lipids; however, it lacks the lignocellulose-degrading enzymes needed to bre...

Draft Genome Sequence of the Dimorphic Yeast Yarrowia lipolytica Strain W29.

Here, we present the draft genome sequence of the dimorphic ascomycete yeast Yarrowia lipolytica strain W29 (ATCC 20460). Y. lipolytica is a commonly employed model for the industrial production of lipases, small molecules, and more recently for its ability to accumulate lipids.

Draft Genome Sequence of Yarrowia lipolytica Strain A-101 Isolated from Polluted Soil in Poland

Yarrowia lipolytica is an early diverging species of the Saccharomycotina subphylum, which is recognized as a valuable host for many biotechnological applications exploiting its oleaginous capacities. The 20.5-Mb genome of the Polish Y. lipolytica strain A-101 will greatly help decipher the genetic basis of the regulation of its lipid metabolism.
